Want to know how fast you type?
Take our quick 60-second test to find out how fast you type. You'll see your speed in Words Per Minute (WPM) and Characters Per Minute (CPM).
How to Start?
- Look for the blue text box.
- Start typing the words you see.
- The timer starts as soon as you begin.
How We Measure Your Speed?
We count how many words and characters you type correctly in 60 seconds. This gives us your WPM and CPM scores. Here are good WPM by age:
- Ages 8-11: 8-15 WPM
- Ages 12-14: 12-25 WPM
- Ages 15-18: 20-35 WPM
- Adults: 50+ WPM
Why We Use Simple Words?
We use common words in our test. This ensures we're testing your typing speed, not your vocabulary.
What Do CPM and WPM Mean?
CPM is Characters Per Minute - This is the total number of characters you type in one minute.
WPM is Words Per Minute - We calculate this by dividing your CPM by 5. It's standard way to measure typing speed.
